About Us Services Locations Bobby & Steve's in the media
Steve Anderson

steve andersonSteve Anderson is the co-founder of Bobby and Steve's Auto World. Steve starting working at the Bloomington location in 1978. He was paying his way through college by working nights and weekends. After 6 years at the University of Minnesota Steve was interviewing for a career placement with Abbott Lab's and that's when Bobby made him a offer he couldn't refuse. At that time there was a drive-in theater next door and a gravel pit across the street.

The station was a little two bay service center with gas pumps that could not go over a $1 per gallon! As time went on, the area developed. Steve went to the city several times in attempts to acquire a permit to remodel. The city kept saying NO! You are a non-conforming use and we want your land. This went on for years. Then one day, the head city planner (Bob Hawbaker) came to the station and asked Steve "when are you going to rebuild this dump?" Steve replied, "As soon as you give me a building permit." Then Mr. Hawbaker told Steve to get some plans together and we'll make this happen.

That was the beginning of Bobby and Steve's Auto World. There were thousands of hours and millions of dollars put into planning the Auto World Concept. Today we have 8 locations and we're still growing!

Steve Williams

steve williamsSteve Williams is Bobby's son and is a partner in several of Bobby and Steve's Auto World locations including Minneapolis, Nicollet, Lino Lakes and the newly purchased Eden Prairie location.  He graduated from the University of Minnesota at Duluth with a Bachelor of Business Administration.

Steve started working for Bobby back when he was 12 years old as a 'towel boy'.  "I'd be out at the drive washing windows and pumping gas with a towel in my pants pocket," said an enthusiastic Steve.  In 1982, Steve took responsibility and became an official partner with Bobby by running the Texaco station on the corner of Interstate 35W and Washington Avenue in downtown Minneapolis.  That station had only four gas pumps and two service bays compared to sixteen gas pumps and six service bays now.  On April 1, 1998 Bobby and Steve opened Bobby and Steve's Auto World in Minneapolis, and waited two hours for their first customer.  "I can still remember that day.  I was anxious, scared, and enthusiastic about us opening and to wait two hours for the first customer… that was hard, "Steve said.  He also added that he keeps, in his wallet, the first dollar spent in the new store.  "Yeah, every time I look at it, I remember how long it took to get it!"

When asked why he chose the service station business, Steve said,  "It's the ultimate in service to people. We are always open.

Steve was recently diagnosed with multiple myloma, a blood cancer prevalent in the petroleum industry.  Pray for continued recovery and long life with this new challenge in his life.

Jason Snyder

jason snyderJason Snyder has partnered with Bobby and Steve Williams at our Jason's Bobby & Steve’s Auto World Lino Lakes location.  Jason Snyder started at Jeff’s station in Columbia Heights in September 2001. He worked part-time nights and weekends as a service writer. He was a service leader for 2 1/2 years. Growing up Jason worked at JC Penny’s selling shoes; he also was a cook at The Pantry Restaurant. He worked as a technician for Appliance Plus as well. He learned much of his handyman skills from his father. However his true passion is helping people.

“I remember learning how to work on cars with my dad, roofing, electricity, and plumbing. We were always working on something. I love people and helping people.” “I think that has been there for me since I was very little since I grew up with a handicapped father.” Jeff Bahe was a life long friend and neighbor and recruited Jason to serve people at his station. While working there he also owned Spirit Unlimited DJ Company.
During the time at Jeff’s, Jason loved service writing and truly building relationships with advocates.” It became personal to me that that I would give them the best.”

“I was not a big fan nor fast believer in the Bobby and Steve’s Auto World philosophy at that time.  After meeting Bobby Williams my thinking became transformed through a revelation of how he was in his personal life and in business.  I saw a man who invested in people and in the philosophies of Bobby and Steves Auto World and created the vision. Eventually after being with him my thinking became positive.  He believed in me and continued to motivate and aspired me to be successful in both my personal and business life, which now are the same.”

It has been through the continual perseverance to strive for greatness that Jason was very fortunate to partner with Bobby and Steve in April 2005 as the Lino Lakes location opened.

Jeff Bahe

Jeff Bahe is Bobby's partner at Jeff's Bobby and Steve's Auto World Columbia Heights location. He has a schooling background in Business, and started working for Bobby in 1977 when he was just 15 years old.

When Jeff was hired into the company, Bobby was out-of-town at the time. When Bobby returned, there were questions why a 15 year old was hired. "I told him I was a hard worker and at the end of two weeks if you feel I'm unable to do the job, you can let me go," Jeff remembers. Bobby would have sales contests for his team members, at all of his locations, which created an enthusiastic environment which Jeff remembers very distinctively. "We'd have 'Full Service' sales contests on the drive which I won most of the time !"

In 1986, Jeff had the opportunity to partner with Bobby, in Columbia Heights at 37th Ave NE and Central Avenue NE where he operated six gas pumps and three service bays compared to eighteen gas pumps and ten service bays now. In July of 1999, Bobby and Jeff opened Jeff's Bobby and Steve's Auto World of Columbia Heights. When asked why he chose the service station business, Jeff said "I've always had an interest in cars and service, and what a better way to practice both interests at the same time."

TJ Jorgensen

Thomas Jorgensen Jr., known and referred to as TJ, is Bobby’s partner at Bryn Mawr Auto in South Minneapolis. TJ was born and raised on a farm in Embarrass Minnesota. The only son born to Thomas Sr. with three sisters, TJ was always the one helping his dad work on whatever needed to be done. Ask TJ when he started working on cars; his response would be “When I was old enough to carry a wrench”. TJ graduated from Eveleth Technical College in 1992. In October of 1993, he relocated to the Twin Cities. Within a month of living in the area, he started working at Kennedy Transmission in Fridley. During his employment, he attended Dunwoody Technical College for transmission rebuilding. In early 1997, TJ wanted to expand his work ability to more than just transmissions. He responded to an ad for a technician position in Bloomington at the first Bobby & Steve’s Auto World. He started working there 7 months after Bobby & Steve’s Auto World opened. In 2003, TJ heard a rumor that Bobby Williams’ brother Arlan Williams, who was his partner at Byrn Mawr Auto, was looking to retire. At that point, TJ approached Bobby and as they say, the rest is history. When asked why he chose the service station business, TJ response “I’ve always enjoyed serving people and impressing them with the knowledge in solving opportunities”.

Jared Scheeler

Jared Scott Scheeler is the youngest partner in the Bobby & Steve's Auto World family. He was born and raised by Rick and Karla Scheeler in Dickinson, North Dakota before moving to the Twin Cities to attend the University of Minnesota. As a freshman in college, Jared joined the Bobby and Steve's Auto World team at the downtown Minneapolis location because, "I loved the attitudes of the people." While taking classes at the U of M, Jared noticed the "corporate attitude" of the business school, and realized he wanted to be a part of an entrepreneurship where people are truly the most important asset of the business. He knew that mentality existed at Bobby & Steve's Auto World. Over time, Jared learned more about the company and about leadership, and in 2006 became a partner at the downtown Minneapolis location. He has aspirations to bring Bobby & Steve's Auto World to another large metropolitan area. Jared and his wife, DeAnn Marie, reside in Victoria, MN and have two daughters, Abigail Kay and Annabel Claire.
